Overview:LAN1166E is a high-current linear constant current IC specially designed for 12V automotive LED lighting. It features internal 135℃ thermal shutdown protection, maximum output current up to 4A, maximum power dissipation 8W and ultra-low dropout voltage 0.5V. Perfectly compatible with 12V high-power automotive lighting scenarios, it is a high-reliability driver solution for high-brightness automotive headlights.
LAN1166E Product Description
LAN1166E is a dedicated linear constant current driver IC developed for 12V high-power automotive LED lights. The peripheral circuit is ultra-simple with strong compatibility, and the technical reference can follow LAN1165ED_Ver1.4.
LAN1166E integrates built-in 135℃ thermal shutdown protection circuit, maintaining stable operation under high differential voltage. It adapts to high-temperature working conditions of vehicles and supports mixed application of high and low temperature ICs.
LAN1166E supports 100V maximum withstand voltage and 4A peak output current, with only 0.5V ultra-low dropout voltage. Low heat generation and high efficiency make it ideal for 12V high-power automotive LED lighting applications.
LAN1166E outputs high current: 2.5A application recommends two 1206 resistors, 4A application recommends two 1210 resistors. For high power operation, a custom 2W thermal conductive copper substrate is required for heat dissipation.

Important Notes
① For high current design: 2.5A application uses two 1206 resistors; 4A application uses two 1210 resistors.
② For high power operation, custom 2W thermal conductive copper substrate is mandatory; otherwise thermal shutdown will be triggered and output power will drop.
③ High temperature and low temperature ICs can be used in combination to adapt to complex ambient temperature conditions.
