DW8502 Product Description
DW8502 is a low-dropout linear step-down LED constant current driver with PWM dimming by DONGWOON. Only one external resistor is needed to build a complete LED driver circuit; output current up to 2500mA is adjustable via this resistor. DW8502 supports instant ON/OFF switching, and can drive LEDs with a wide VF range in series. Output current up to 2.5A is set by external resistor RS, and precise 0~100% brightness control is available via EN pin PWM dimming. DW8502 supports total LED string voltage up to 40V, ideal for high-power multi-series LED modules.
DW8502 integrates thermal foldback protection: when IC temperature is too high, output current is reduced automatically and resumes after cooling, protecting chip and LEDs from overheating damage. DW8502 has ultra-low quiescent current (typical 120uA) for high efficiency. It supports high-frequency PWM dimming via DIM pin. TO263-5L and TO220-5L packages provide excellent thermal performance for long-term operation in automotive and high-power applications.
